The Druzhba'78 hockey team from Ukraine brought the start of their North American Tour to a successful conclusion today by winning the championship of the New York International Hockey Cup.

The NYIHC tournament was played over the past several days at The Albany Academy in Albany, New York. Druzhba'78 competed in the Midget Major division against teams from New York, New England and Canada.

Druzhba'78 captured the NYIHC championship this afternoon by defeating the Long Island Gulls by a score of 5 to 1.
